1Mission: create possibility
The road that shaped the mission
I enlisted in the Army at 17. Over 15 years of service—from aviation search and rescue to nutrition—I learned discipline, leadership, responsibility, and what it means to keep going when the path is difficult.
Military service also taught me that strength is not the absence of struggle. People can look capable on the outside while carrying stress, trauma, pain, or disconnection others cannot see.
Becoming the mother of two neurodivergent children changed the direction of my life. I saw how quickly behavior could be judged without anyone asking what the nervous system, body, environment, communication, health, or unmet need might be saying.
I founded Supportive Minds to give families and professionals the understanding, tools, and steady guidance I once needed. Freedom Route Travel and Veterans Services grew from the same belief: people deserve access, dignity, connection, and opportunities to experience life beyond the limits others place on them.

Why lived experience matters
Parenting taught me that a plan can look perfect on paper and still fail the person it was meant to help. Families need more than general advice—they need someone who understands the daily decisions, safety concerns, school meetings, sensory needs, communication differences, hard moments, and meaningful wins.
“The goal is not to fix the person. It is to understand what is happening, create safety, and build a path forward together.”
Army service
My military experience continues to shape how I lead: assess the situation, protect people, communicate clearly, adapt the plan, and never leave someone behind.
At Fort Sam Houston, I created an Adopt a Soldier program to build connection and support. That same instinct—to see who may be overlooked and create a stronger system around them—runs through everything I do today.

What I believe
Before reacting to a behavior, ask what may be driving it.
The body, brain, environment, health, stress, and skills all matter.
Safety and compassion can exist alongside clear, respectful boundaries.
Understanding and access can turn an impossible path into a meaningful next step.
One mission. Three paths.
Each division serves a different need, but all three are built on understanding, dignity, inclusion, freedom, and practical hope.
Helping people understand the person behind the behavior through education, navigation, advocacy, and practical support.
